hi this is my first post and have had the same tank for two years so i am pretty new, I'm planning an upgrade over the next couple of months and am going to use some of the live rock I already have (which I have already incremently taken out of the tank) the rock has some algae and vermitids which I obviously dont want in the new tank, so i want to dry the rock and start it again. my question is: will a month/ months outside be sufficient to kill everything on it's own?, or would a bleach then a good dry out be best?. I worry about using bleach of I don't really have to

bleach will kill anything on the rock. There can be other things that are trapped inside the rock and if placed back into the tank then It can leach these things. A good example is when I traded a guy 150 lbs of rock for a sump I put the rock in the water and went on vacation and when I came back there were algae and everything all over it and the tank was in the dark so really not sure how it even grew.

If you search up Bulk Reef Supply on youtube they have a video about using bleach and acid on live rock. Very informative
