I’ve noticed a fair amount of my coralline algae is bleaching out. I want to make sure I’m not missing something.

I successfully treated gha with flux Rx about 3 weeks ago. Would fluconazole treatment take out my coralline? I haven’t seen reports of that via google. My only other thought was higher tank temps, but still only gets to about 80.5 for maybe 6 hrs a day.

my alk has been fluctuating a bit more lately so I’ve started a midweek dose (I water change on weekends and sometimes dose with the wc if needed). I shoot for 8.3 and sometimes it’ll dip down to mid to high 7’s which I didn’t think would be a big issue (though started dosing tokeep it higher).

parms:
Ph: 8.3
Alk: 8.3
Ca: 425
Mg: 1500
Po4: .03-.05
Nitrates: 10ish

Low nutrients will cause it and stuff like vibrant, flux, etc as well

I have found only 2 or 3 asterina in the tank over the last 3 or 4 months and took them out. I haven’t seen any in quite a while.

I had been dosing vibrant for the GHA but it didn’t work (after months of use) so tried the flux Rx (reef flux I used last year did nothing). Maybe that’s it though it seems to have come on suddenly. It’s water testing day so I’ll check parms too and make sure my mg didn’t drop. It’s normally high so I don’t test it more than once a month

Ninja star snails don’t eat it, so they? I added 6 of those relatively recently and they seem very active.

I had a bunch of coraline bleach in my tank several months ago and never figured out why. Corals never seemed bothered. I too had been fighting gha with vibrant. Maybe that’s the common denominator. It’s all growing in again now.

As long as my corals are ok I guess all is good. I did just inexplicably lose a bow tie blaster zoa but everything else seems happy and grows pretty quickly. My calcium just tested at 400 after my wc though (was 425 last Sunday) so I’ll dose that to bring it up a bit. Mg was at 1600 (it’s always between 1500 and 1600 and I have no idea why - even picked up an aqua forest mag test as BRS said those were best)
