Hey,
as noted in https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/not-my-first-build-but-my-first-thread.959014/ I started a nano and moved a sampling of soft corals over from other tanks

About 2 days ago, (2 weeks after adding the corals and starting the tank) this Ricordia started bleaching across its body. Thought it an optical illusion yesterday, but clearly advancing across the disc.

Had not seen this before with other mushrooms in my tanks and wonder if it is the admittedly puny light (a Fluval 20 watt Marine) or if it is something else. Going to test for PAR, but kinda know it is low . Wanted to see hope cost effective a tank could be, hence the light selection

all else in the tank is fine for now

All i test in this little tank is salinity and tested for ammonia and nitrates (tank has cured rock and seasoned media) and they are 0 and 10pm respectively. It has had 2 10% weekly WCs with AquaForest

I can let it go, or move it back to the frag tank -

Thoughts?

as far as I ever knew, rics like higher light. Mine are close to the top of my rocks under MH lights and they keep splitting.

Often when they bleach, the light is too bright or too much spectrum in which you want to cut pink to 30 and see how it looks in 48 hours. Also feed brine or mysis occasionally

Check

How’s it looking now?
slowly gaining its color, had an issue with a fluvial submersible 50 watt heater that ran up the temp to 27.8 - so the tank is a little discombobulated right now, dont think I lost anything

Glad to hear it’s getting color back. Shrooms are pretty hardy so I’m not surprised.
