Came across this colony, got it. Think I may have my lights turned up to high for it. Does this look like it’s bleaching/receding? It’s in the top 2/3 of my tank.

I don’t have acess to a par meter now. But when measured before par was around 250 in the top 2/3

Cal 500
Mg 1450
Alk 8.3
Po4 .03
No3 10 ppm
Temp 78
Ph 8.3
Recommendations? Thanks

I see some variations in tip colors
, time will tell. high light won't show itself first if you think it's around 250 that won't be it. Colonies can be a tricky beast to tame.

I’m starting to think it’s my flow. It seems to be receding where flow is closest. But then looks fine farther from flow. I run a jaebo set to random. I’ll post a better pic tomorrow. But the receding is worst on the back of the colony

It looks like growth to me also…I don’t think flow or lights are effecting it

How long have you had it?

Always remember, the Coral you see at your local LFS, or a friend's tank, will never look exactly the same in your tank. Some coral, especially SPS can take longer to color back up...weeks even after you place them in your tank.

I bought an SPS...an Anacropora Coral that was bright lime green at my LFS ...wasn't exactly sure what it was and concerned about it looking almost white after placing in my tank...so I asked everyone here at R2R...and they said 2 things.

1. It's definitely an Anacropora.
2. Be patient, it's gonna be 2 to 3 weeks before it gets its color back.

You know what? They were right. 2.5 weeks in and it's getting amazing colors now, but still not quite what it looked like when I bought it.

On the other hand my Hyacinth Birdsnest took all of 2 days to to return to form, and actually looks better in my tank then it did at my LFS.

So i would agree...looks like normal growth, but you may never get the fresh wild popping color of when you 1st got it...but that's ok.

Had it a month-ish. Just unsure. The tank is almost 2yrs old. Wante it well established. Just seems to have less green flesh and polyps are minimizing wher the most direct flow is. I plan on moving the nearest Pwr head so there is no direct flow on it

Not new growth. Polyps are retracted and looks like the tips are starting to burn.
Symptoms of burn tips and causes pls.
I’m using the Photone app later today( I know it’s not as accurate as a par meter)
Just to make sure my lights are still where they need to be. Charleston reef clubs is out of commission for some reason and that was the last one I used. So I hope it wasn’t bad when I used it

Power head should not be pointed at it.
I do run Gfo. Maintain about.03. Acro like higher?
LOL, asking Charlie if they like high po4?
Sorry, it's funny. He runs way high with amazing colors.

I'm at 0.08- 0.1

Not pointed directly, about 1.5” over it. But it still gets a good blast
