I'm having problems keeping my sps happy. Acropora started bleaching from the tips. I git the poci already bleaching from the bottom. Parameters: NO3 below 20ppm, PO4 0.25 but had a spike to 1ppm. Ca 460, pH 8.2. KH 7. Tank is 6 months old. 240l. Recently added 2x110W DIY LED lamps both at 40% power. Total flow around 8k literę/hour. I supplement Balling 2x10ml of KH, Ca, Sws and I add them as boluses from syringes. What to do? Gry rid od those sos? I also have caulastrea that don't wanna extend polyps :/

I would stop dosing everything. Get back to the basics here. See what your actual parameters are and go from there.

Also, how are you testing your water? What test kits? You get what you pay for here, so if you are using the cheapest kits you can find, your results might not be as accurate.

Any algae issues to speak of? I would think that with the high PO4 you might be heading down that road here soon. .03 would be the min that I would shoot for. I actually keep mine around the .1-.15 mark.

I had to dose Balling because od low KH od 5 a few weeks back. Ca was 330. That's way before sps were introduced. The only KH swinga arę when I dose it with a syringe in the morning and at night. I use Salifert test kits.
No algae issues. PO4 probably went up coz I fed more pellet food. 3 days of no food lowered PO4 from 1 to 0.25. used to be undetectable.
Tanks od 240l main and 130l sump. Fish: salarias, chrysiptera springeri, Cryptocentrus cinctus, hexa. I think macro swings could be from the introduction of hexa and Springer.

If you were measuring 5, I would have questions on the validity of that test kit. Have you verified your readings with other test kits to confirm?

Are you are using API test kit for phosphate, which is no good? You need to keep phosphate lower than .1 for sps, but the API test kit measures in degrees of .25. In other words, its completely useless this hobby, not sure why they even sell it.

Sps cant grow with high phosphate like that, they will brown and die. But you need good test kits to accurately measure, to figure out where your tank really is. Parameters have to be in line and stay in line and never fluctuate. This is the key for sps.

I would take this as a sign that maybe you and your tank are not quite ready for sps. They really do rquire research and knowledge and experience.

I got the as a package and thiught I'd give 'em away or sell. Pocillo seems to be coming around but the acro doesn't. I don't feel like lowering my parameters at all cost.

I used Zoolek kit to check if it's far from Salifert's readings. IT was not.

every pocciloproa I’ve seen bleached from the bottom, doesn’t get enough light down there with how they grow
