Bleaching used live rock!

Yeah just clean out the tank with bleech water 1:5 ratio and put the used live rock into a container with again a bleech 1:5 water bath let soak for like 5 days then pull the rock out rinse it off and let sit in the sun for a week and then your good to go.

What’s the best way to bleach used live rock?
In the past ive done a bleach/water solution, rinse in cold water until smell is faint or gone and Sun Dry

Awesome thank you so much!

I got it from someone and I don’t want to catch any hitchhikers
I get the bleach idea to kill off ALL organics (maybe) but what about just submerging in freshwater for a few days,,, then blast off with hose in the backyard?

*nothing wrong with bleach since it evaporates quickly in the sun anyway but just curious

Its what I've heard that works the best im not sure honestly...

Ohh and no additives in the bleach like no splash or fregrense just plain old bleech.
This is very important. I started this hobby when it started and we used to bleach our dead coral and gravel almost weekly. There was no rock then, dead or alive.

I once used "New Fresh Scent Clorox" and killed most of my fish instantly. You can get "Regular" bleach in dollar stores. Regular Clorox I can't find any longer but never use anything but Regular and it will say it on the label.

I got some and I don’t have any scent on the label so I think I’m good!

Is the bleach ok to use?
