Hello,

I am looking to expand my current livestock and currently have the following in a 200gal reef tank

Current Livestock:
4 Clowns(one white, two black, one orange)
4 Bangai Cardinals
1 Key Lime Wrasse
3 Chromis (green)
1 Diamond Watchman Goby
1 Green Mandarin
1 Royal Gramma
1 Flame Angel
1 serpent star
2 Skunk cleaner shrimp
2 peppermint shrimp
about 75 blue legged hermit
25 red scarlet hermits
handful of mixed snails

Future additions:
1 purple tang
1 yellow tang (these two added last at same time)

I was wondering what you anyone recommend for Jawfish or Blennies or both?

Also after doing some reading I thought about adding

1 Pyramid butterflyfish
1 One spot foxface

Any advise on these two fish mixing with my livestock and some good suggestions with compatible jawfish and blennies would be great! Thanks.

Blennies and jawfish are such goofy fish I have to reccommend both! Honestly they are some of those fish with "personalities"

I don't see an issue with adding any of those. The aggression your existing tangs would show towards the foxface and the butterflyfish initially would be my only concern.

Are there ones to stay away from and others to look for when it comes to compatibility with reef tanks?

I don't have any tangs yet, they are the last two fish that will be added to the tank when that day comes.

Blennies and jawfish are fine in the same tank, just avoid multiple blennies in a tank. Jawfish can share a tank and occasionally will be in pairs (if they don't pair they can move to different areas).

oops wasn't paying attention :/ I think pretty much all the jawfish can work with the exception of the bluespotted as they don't seem to do well for most people(need cooler temps). Blennies are a lot more variable. For the algae grazer types I like Starry blennies ,tons of personality.

Also consider having a harem of 5 clowns from the same egg batch. Its kinda cool as it mimics the wild a little more. I love clowns so I think this would be fun but its all personal taste :)

Good to know! I like the idea of a red scooter blenny

I'm going to look the Star blenny up! I really like personality type fish!

I had a starry blenny who would stalk my hand when I was doing something in the tank. He would popo out from a rock, get closer, look out, get closer, and then when he was in reach he would bite me XD

I think all of the lawnmower type blennies have the potential to be aggressive but personally I've found clownfish the worst biters

I recommend any, and all of the meiacanthus blennies. They swim out in the Open water, not perching on the rock work like other blennies. I have multiple at the same time, and they haven’t been territorial at all. The only downside of all blennies is the relatively short lifespans, usually 3 to 4 years. Don’t worry about these being venomous fang blennies, I have never been bitten, nor have I seen them bite another fish.
