I'm looking for a good looking blenny (or any fish for that matter) that'll take care of algae and is reef compatible. Is there such a thing or do I have to stick with the typical algae blenny?

The Algae Blenny has done well for me. Not that cute but they have a great personality and are good workers!

Starry Blenny

Thanks Rev. And KJ, the Starry Blenny is definitely a notch up. I was wondering about the Combtooth bennies. Will they do the job? Maybe the Black or Yellow Eye Combtooth Blenny?

Ecsenius species of blennies have great personality and interesting colors. They are mostly reef safe, though every once in awhile a specimen may decide to nip.

I've had a Starry Blenny for 2 years now, great fish but mine does not eat much algae.

I just added a midas blenny
Great color and personality

I wouldn't buy one expecting it to. Mine only eats the meaty foods I put in the tank. Occasionally I will place some nori in there and he never touches it. Still an awesome fish

There are many small beautiful Ecsenius. My favorit is stigmatura but ops and bimaculatus is also good looking.
Or maybe Encheulyrus flavipes.

I was told they do but I haven't had him long enough to say yes or no

I have a starry blenny and love its personality. I've never seen it eating algae, at least the bubble/hairy kind, but it is always munching on the rocks for something and in the sand bed.

I've been told that black mollies acclimated to salt water are excellent algae eaters; never tried it myself but am intrigued :)
