Blenny ID

This little blenny arrived with a Live rock shipment, as a freebie only a couple days ago. A suprise from the nice ladies at Tampa Bay Saltwater.
I need an exact ID please. He is 1" in length, and quite elusive. This is the best picture I could get so far. Thanks for taking the time to ID

My first guess would be a Molly miller going by where the rock is from.

Yep blennys are nice fish and friendly. I like them a lot and some days very active and also laying about on rocks keeping an eye out for easy food . Great fish

Hiya, Molly Miller!

This Blenny is not a Molly Miller (Scartella cristata), neither is the one you own @Skywater. Molly Miller have red hair like cirri and are not common at all in Tampa. People misidentify blennies very often, the fish displayed by @LiverockRocks is a False Oyster Blenny (Hypleurochilus pseudoaequipinnis). Identified by the 2 separate eyelash like cirri and face pattern. Alot of places 'scam' or simply not know nor care to know and tell people random blennies are Molly Millers, then buyers wonder why their 'Molly Miller' doesnt eat aiptasia. You will need better photos of your blenny for 100% ID, of the head and cirri ideally

Besides losing some equipment and supplies, we are thankful the emergency back up system worked great providing life support for the holding system. Holding tank rims are 3.6’ off the ground and the surge breach was 3’, so close to losing tons of product. Lots of mud and debris cleanup still to be accomplished.

Last batch of rock from this system is shipping today and tomorrow, then we begin the BIG move. We are very excited!
