First question up: For breeding Lawnmowers (S. Fasciatus), what is the best method of introduction of both specimens? How dangerous is it to mistakenly add two males/two females together?

My relationship with blennies is on and off because of this guy. My Escenius lineatus (Linear or Dot-Dash Blenny). P.S. this isn’t a new photo, he’s now residing in my 4’ tank with 13-14 other fish.

I ordered Mexican Barnacle blennies from https://drreefsquarantinedfish.com/ I am waiting sort of patiently for the QT process to complete and see the new tank members. I have a large cluster of barnacle shells waiting for them.

After researching them, I have decided to grow brine shrimp to feed them and supplement with other zooplankton sized freeze dried food. Any other feeding facts I might have missed?

IME they mostly just hide out in the barnacles or rock crevices until feeding time. Then, they dart out like lightning bolts to grab food. It's like watching a bullet ricochet in your reef. Ha!

Might need to put a small group of these on my list for my community (literally) nano. Either that or a pair of E. bimaculatus

Question for those that have barnacle clusters:
Do you do anything to the sharp edges around the openings before sticking in your tank? (I assume not)

I only ask because, since my bicolor blenny took to the barnacle cluster I threw in, seems like his tail fin has gotten sliced/trimmed a bit, I assume from darting in and out of the barnacles (with sharp edges) all the time. (All good other than that and I have to assume he knows what he's doing but just bothering me a bit)

Honestly, I just dumped it in and my blenny refused to leave it alone when he was in my nano. Now he’s in my 4’ with a larger barnacle cluster and he refuses to allow ANYONE near it, even my Foxface and Tang aren’t allowed near it when he’s in there.

I love my Blennys!

That's my Lawn boy. I have a Stary also. Still need to get a pic.

I did have a Bi-Color that was a coral nipper and had to be re-homed. Be careful with those.
