About a week ago I added a Blenny to my aquarium. Seemed to take to the new space fine. He dug himself a hiddy hole under some rock and seemed to be chillin’.

The other day I spotted him resting on a clam.

I hunted around online and found a few articles on blennies nipping at clams, and decided I’d keep a close eye to see what happens.

As far as I’ve seen, this Blenny isn’t doing that. He just sits there. If another fish gets to close he darts back to his hiding spot. If he sees food, he grabs it and swims back to the clam.

Only ever kept one Blenny before and not in a tank with a clam, so never observed this before. Not sure what to think. Could the Blenny be keeping the clam from feeding? Should I be concerned?

Also, yes, that photo shows we’re in the midst of an algae issue. Currently working on that, too.

Looks like the clan doesn’t mind but it can irritate to death
