I just got in another order of feeder shrimp. Last order a pipefish hijacked his way into my order. He is now happily residing in my reef. This order a blenny or goby hijacked his way in.
Shrimp come from Okeechobee, FL. I’m trying to identify him so I could maybe add him to a tank. I remember reading about one from the gulf that eats GHA, I can’t remember it’s name, fortunately don’t have a problem currently but if he is an algae eater, I might grow him out a little and put him in my new angel tank.
Thanks for the help.

The picture is blurry, but it may be a lawnmower goby.
Thanks, I’ll try to get a better pic but he is tiny and I really had to zoom in. Not much bigger than the feeder shrimp. I’m pretty sure he isn’t a lawnmower as I have two in separate systems.

Easy way to tell would be how often they swim and how high up they go.

Lawnmower blennies (Salarias fasciatus) are not found in the Atlantic, so I doubt this is the fish in question. My guess is that this is a goby of some sort due to the straightened body plan.
@Chasmodes
Supplier responded it was probably a goby. So small and hard to see it’s dorsal to see if it is continuous. Gonna try to get him in a cup or something so I can see closer. If it looks like a Molly Miller I may try to grow it for my angel tank. If not I’ll probably put it in one of my reefs and see how it does.

My guess would be Gobiosoma ginsburgi (seaboard goby), because of the head coloration and source location, but could also be Gobiosoma bosc (naked goby). Either way, they're mild mannered and would make good residents along with your pipefish IMHO.
