Hello all, sorry I’m advance if this post has typos I’m trying to type it out as fast as I can in hopes that someone will se this soon enough to help me

my lawnmower blenny that I have had for over 6 months is suddenly, purple and laying on it’s side, still breathing. All other fish and corals in the tank are completely fine. It has random bursts of energy and moves sometimes.

soery for bad picture, also don’t mind the ammonia tester on the back it keeps falling off of the glass.

also I forgot to mention, it’s being chased around the tank by nassarius snails which doesn’t seem good.

Yeah, it being chased by the Nassarius snails is not a good sign

While you wait for the disease experts, the link below has some good advice for info you can post that may help the experts with figuring out/diagnosing the problem:

If nassarius are chasing it, the fish is apparently weak and may be moribund. Cant see much in pic which is blurry
Is it breathing normal or rapid ?
Is it able to swim off or too weak?

It’s breathing is fluctuating between normal and very light and slow, it’s trying to swim and sometimes it’s able to for a few seconds and then falls back down. I’ve transferred it to a smaller container so it can have a place with no flow or nassarius snails. I feel that it’s probably past the point of no return for him unfortunately but hopefully I can find out what happened to him so that I can prevent it from happening to my other fish.

As mentioned, fish appears moribund and may or may not make it
If you have one, you can add airstone but may have no effect . Fish also seemed thin- what foods were you feeding?

First of all, he’s stopped breathing and moving and didn’t react when I touched him with a net so I think he’s gone. to answer your question, I feed on alternating days, mysis shrimp, and ocean nutrition formula 2. As for how skinny he is I just noticed that as well. He wasn’t very skinny when he was healthy and I didn’t really notice anything recently as he looked fine and was eating well, however he is now so thin that his spine creates a visible protrusion. What could have caused a healthy fish to die like that so fast?

Part of it- poor diet. Many stores will not tell owners the proper diet and sell them as algae eaters. The truth is- they need algae in their diet but require calcium and meaty foods. Often you’ll see them gnawing and pounding on rock and coral. This is to obtain needed calcium and meats such as mysis shrimp, krill, shrimp, scallop and foods like LRS fish frenzy and seaweed blend
