Blenny sucked down water change hose

I was doing a water change and my sailfin blenny swam right up to the hose and got sucked down into the bucket. He’s quite slim, so I don’t think he was that injured from going into the tube. I put him back in the tank and now he’s hiding and I can’t seem to find him.
Have any of you had fish sucked down the hose but they turned out okay?

Ah thanks. Just worried since he turns dark when he’s stressed. But now I see him back out and about and he’s light colored again.

I haven’t had any saltwater fish go for a ride but have had many freshwater fish go straight through the tube and never had any die.

I had a yellow watchman goby go overflow surfing once, poor guy lived in my fuge for a few months before I found him... He was fine, and he made it through the overflow, down the standpipe, into my sump, and over a few baffles to get there. I think your little guy will be fine!

My clown goby did the exact same thing! That little fish has also gotten into the corner overflow twice and taken the wild ride into the sump. The first time, he was down there probably a month before I found him in there (saw something wiggling)! Now at water change time, I immediately get a visual on him and angle the siphon in the corner, usually right over the mag float.

I have done it on a few fish and even a shrimp. They have all survived fine. It happens on my 6g more since fish are soooo small. Although had a baby clown do it once too.
