Bloated emperor angel

I think my emperor angel has intestinal blockage or constipation . Best medicine for that ? The fish is eating fine so far. I am giving api general cure mixed with focus. Some people mentioned mixing castor oil with food? Is it good? Any other medications?

Can’t see the video on my phone. Can you post a picture & talk about the history of this fish and whether or not it has been treated for internal worms? I’m general, the way to treat constipation is the following - stop feeding meaty food, feed only algae heavy food at small but more frequent amounts, give it an epsom salt bath, & increase water temperature.

Fish is 2 years old havent had any major disease . I treated with prazipro couple of weeks back too.

Bloating can be other issues too. What have you changed in his diet or feeding frequency? Can you see if his anus area is protruded like the one shown in the pic?

Alright then…, so he is constipated and may have internal worms since he is never treated with deworming meds like metroplex or fenbendizole. Treat a combination of what I listed to see if he gets better in a couple of days. Higher temp increases digestion so that’s a must in my opinion but make sure your skimmer is working properly to compensate for the increase in temp.

Update .. started giving kanaplex with frozen food “emerald entry” the emperor is doing good and the bloat is almost gone now

Finally found something that worked

This is to pass out the info regarding how I treated my Emperor angel fish .
Finally after 3 weeks of treating my emperor angel finally figured out how to treat this as long as the fish is eating.
These are the treatments I followed .
1) gave API general cure for 5 days -- didn't work
2) gave boiled green peas for 3-4 days -- didnt work
3) Dosed prazipro for 3 days. -- didn't work
4) Gave kanamycin + Epsom salt .. The fish started having protruded anus.

4) Finally I took a chance and mixed pellet food + little organic castor oil This did the trick . The castor oil really triggered a diarrhea for other fish too . The amount of poop that came out of my angel was unbelievable.

Castor oil is generally safe for animals. If any one thinks other wise please let me know . the Emperor is so relieved and active now.
