Blonde naso white splotches

Hey everyone!

I purchased this blonde naso last week. It’s been doing fantastic: eating all foods like a champ.

It’s been in copper power 2.4ppm and prazipro for a week.


It seemed to develop these white blotches yesterday/today. It’s still eating well.

Is this something treatable?

First it's difficult to tell exactly what you're talking about - since there are lots of stains/dots on the glass. Second, If you mean the lines - that look like scratches - they look like scratches/wounds from either transfer or something in the tank. I would not change what you're doing. They will likely heal on their own

These appears as two things with my suspicion being scratches which will heal on its own. If its raised bumps, then skin irritation with mucus and treatable often with a coppersafe treatment at 2.25. I dont have to mention the coppersafe method as you have become seasoned enough to know what to do with use of coppersafe

Those are injury to the skin due to what ever cause. It is going to be up to you to determine what injur your fish.

The fish was really scared and seemed to be scraping itself against the rocks yesterday! I just connected the dots. It was nestled under a crevice. Those rocks could be pretty sharp.

Doesnt take much and that would be it and should heal on its own, however keep an eye on it for healing and not sore or infection in which treatment would be seachem Kanaplex

Sorry, I got nothing then, except possibly scrape marks. Are they only/mostly on the fish’s right side? Asymmetrical marks are more often from injuries, and parasites tend to distribute more symmetrically.

I should add that blonde basis have been increasingly reported to do well for a few weeks to a month, and then dropping for no apparent reason. I don’t know if this is an artifact of poor handling in SE Asia, or just a result of more of these being sold since Hawaiian nasos not being available.
