Hi guys! I’ve had this blondie frag for a few months now and I noticed that The yellow part has been turning brown. They have been multiplying fine (I started out with 5 and I’m up to around 10) and are opening and everything but their color is just not great. Any thoughts as to how I can improve color? I have already moved them up a little higher in the tank but that didn’t seem to do much of anything.

Moving them is a possibility, but having them tipped down away from the light kind of negates the whole idea, doesn't it?

I'm just asking.

BTW how are your nitrate and phosphate levels? Maybe nutrients would help?

That is very true. I honestly feel dumb for not realizing that they are turned away from the lights and that could be the problem. I’m going to check the nitrates and phosphates again tomorrow but last time I checked there wasn’t much of anything there so I started feeding the coral reef roids a little more frequently. I feel like I feed my fish and corals so much though that nutrient deficiency shouldn’t be a problem

I was feeding reefroids in a similiar manner and ended up with a big phosphate issue. High phosphates will cause an increase in zooanthelle which will turn them brown. You'll have great growth but poor color
