Bloodshot mini carpet anemone show-off

I have had this mini carpet nem for about a year. I purchased the nem from Socal reefs on ebay. (I'm not saying this as an endorsement, just stating lineage). It is 1.5-2.5" across depending on its mood. It splits every few months and is very bright. I really like the red and green contrast. I have never seen anything like it at a frag show or LFS.

What do you guys/gals think? Does anybody else have a similar nem?... If so where did you buy it?

Wow man that nem is beautiful! You said it splits a lot? You must have a tank full by now.

I got one from my LFS but it is only .5''. Eats and everything but never gets any bigger. Have had it around 8 months.

Thanks for the compliment. I have had 3 come off my original. I always give the babies to my friends or trade them locally. My tank is heavily stocked with SPS and zoas so I am scared to have lots of nems. The one in the photo is going to Joey from Joe knows reefs (great dude). I see them on eBay often from the SoCal guy.

What do you feed it? I've noticed that mine really likes finely chopped shrimp enhanced with zoomax. I have mine in a med flow area with high light. Where did your nem end up in your system? What type of light are you using?

I've also noticed a link between stress and splitting. If I point a powerhead (connected to wavemaker) at the nem it moves slightly which sometimes triggers a split. Some people go as far as physically moving the nem to encourage a split, but I would not want to risk hurting it.

I would love to see a photo if you have one.

....I also turn off my flow pumps when I spot feed it. I hope yours starts to grow cryptics.

Mines about the size of a quarter and haven't had it long. Had a buddy order it through his store for me.

I got one about 7 months ago locally and it has split once. They are on the bottom of my tank so they rarely get fed. Might split more often if fed more.

That looks exactly the same to me except I paid 75. 650 is expensive (no offense to any sponsors)
