Blow off rocks or not?

I go around with a powerhead a few times a month to clear the detritus off the rocks. It frees up the particulates for skimmer/mechanical filtration to catch. I also try to have my flow aimed in such a way that everything is mostly suspended for the filters to catch. IMO, it really helps water quality to remain stable

I use a penguin power head attached to a length of pvc. I supply's a good blast to the rocks & easily pointed . I don't do this as often as I should. Much better than turkey baster .
