I currently run a pheonix 14K bulb, it's a nice bulb and I've used them for several years, but I was wondering if there were any that were noticeably more blue? It's hard to find an answer online. It will be powered by a aquamedic magnetic ballast.

Thanks

If you're trying to find a more blue spectrum, try picking up a higher kelvin bulb. Personally I'd go with an ushio 20k :)

I've gone through several in the past, the Radium was visibly, to me with my ballast, less blue than the Phonix, Ushio is what Ive got in mind. There are mixed reports as to if they are noticeably bluer than a Phonix 14K tho. Unfortunately each manufacturers definition of kelvin ratings are not =

The coralife 20k was the bluest 150w bulb I ever used. The Phoenix was next then the radium. I never tried the ushio 20k but the 14k was yellow more like 6500-10000k.

I've got a 150 watt MH and two t5's over a 12" deep 20 gallon, so PAR is actually something Im trying to avoid on a LPS dominated tank
