Blue and Green Monti

Seems like alot of you guys here know the fancy street names for corals. What is the Blue with Green polyp montipora danae called? Its just like superman and rainbow but no red, two colors only.

Im not a huge fan of funny names, but I just didn't know this one. A google image search showed the poker star is same stuff. You are right. I wonder why they call it pokerstar. The superman is red and blue, that makes sense. Sunset is kinda orange like the later afternoon sun. But this I dont know about. This is a pic of mine.

Wow!! That is a killer piece!!!! Any frags of that for sale? That is beautiful!! I have a tiny frag of superman that I got from a friend that is about 3/4". That would be a nice addition. Shoot me a PM if you want.

what type lighting do you use

Its in a tank with 2 X 250W MH 20K, 2x VHO 160W 1 actinic, 1 50/50 and 2x t5 actinics the low out put 4foot 28watts.

are VHO's cheaper than t5's and do they last longer ive been considering adding t5's with my new metal halides but im still unsure

I use the big URI brand vho bulbs, they normally go for 35-40per bulb. The t5 I have on that tank are the cheapo low output. I like them for the color, the actinics are really bright blue. The 4foot current bulbs are about 15-20bucks.

t5hos last the longest they last about 18 months where vhos u should change about every 6 months, color vise i think VHOS are the best but T5hos are a vary close second but like i said last 3 times as long

the micro is already looking better all feeders are out i spot fed last night with some brine shrimp soaked in phytoplankton and all the feeders are still out i think ill give hime a little more must be hard not eating for a year lol. but sorry to get off topic but phile this thing as to be 100 plus polyps. i dont know how buut i think talkeing with you has brought me good luck because this is the second amazing deal( or steal if you would) in 2 weeks
