So we noticed some of these purple bugs on the base of some SPS colonies that our friend has. They seem to lay their eggs in random spots and not clumped together. The bugs are a bright blue/purple and their eggs are orange.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

I am admittedly not good at pest ID, but im going to give this a bump up and follow along. How come i never get an alien hitchiker... I want blue bugs! But only if they are good.

They do look like a type of flatworm. I been looking to pinpoint what type but there are so many. Looks similar to a blue splendid flatworm. They are just so small it's really hard to tell.

They are so tiny.. they look kinda round and plumpy so I wasnt sure they would be a flatworm but they move around like them. Really hard to say. If I see more, ill grab a better pic and update this :) Any help is welcome.

thanks all !

Did they cause the damage to the coral shown or is that coincidence and they are just living on the portion with no tissue?
