Was moving all my carpets to a new tank and noticed my blue carpet was budding.

Really cool to see, hopefully it fully forms and pops off soon. Keep us informed to because it really is awesome

I have not hear of any anemone successfully divided in situation like this. Either it resorbed or Reefers cut it off resulting death of the bud or both pieces. Maybe other Reefers hear and or see different. Sorry to be a Negative Nelly on this.

No worries . It's cool to see. Let's see how they do since I moved all carpets to a dedicated tank. I definitely would not cut it. Just gonna leave it be.

I have had one successful bud on a green Haddoni. All others reabsorbed, as I do not cut.

The only difference I saw from the one that lived and the ones reabsorbed was where they were in relation to flow. The nem that had the bud live was in quite a bit of flow. Not saying that is the reason, but was the only difference, as they are all in the same tank.

Nice. The dedicated tank has to have high flow since I got gigs in there. Let's see

Mine is a mix of gigs, mags and haddoni. The one haddoni just decided to snuggle with the gig and was in higher flow lol.

Hoping for the best with it, as we need to figure out how it works and what it takes for them to live. It would be nice to have aquacultured carpets that are already used to a fish tank and do not have the long package time from harvest to door.

Really cool. I’ve noticed my haddoni prefers high flow. It moved directly in front of one of my reef waves and sits so that the flow runs directly across its width. Makes it a pain in the butt to feed.

I've seen this happen a few times (not my nems, but others reporting this happening to theirs) and as OrionN said, if the bud was cut off, it died. On the other hand, if it wasn't disturbed, from what I remember reading, the nems seemed perfectly fine.

No one really know why it happens, but some believe that it's due to an injury that never healed correctly.

That’s great. Very interesting to see what happens to yours.

I read before on Shu Tins journal on RC that this happened before in her experiments. I don’t recall the outcome but you might wanna visit it again? Pictures might all be broken links now though.
