I see a lot of conflicting information out there about the temperament of Blue Chromis. What has your personal experience been?

Keep in groups of 3 or more and you will be fine. Better if you can keep 5 they have a hierarchy. The more you have the more the aggression is spread out. This is my experience.

Mine has been calm to semi-bullies. Best to add them last and they should fit in as they can’t annoy new arrivals

I’ve tried small schools a couple of times and always end up down to 1. They have never caused a problems with other fish and are good active swimmers. I just wouldn’t expect to keep a school of them

I've had a school of 5 for about 5 yrs. Stated loosing them to age. I even had them spawn in the tank.

I'd like to add that I had a school of 3 Lighting Chromis. 1 of them bullied the other two. Now I'm down to 1 left, as the other two were eaten by my carpet nem. Probably chased into it by the 1 bully.

I have two blue reef chromis and they fit in great. The bigger one chases the smaller one a bit but that's it. Always the first to check out what's for dinner.
