Hello Friends

One of the redsea staff member said if possible I should re-home my Blue Damselfish. I have a 15US gallon nano tank. I only have 2 clowns, 1 yellow goby and a Blue Damselfish. Can I keep the damsel with my clownfish? it's almost 4 months now and so far no issues.

Anyone had any issues with clown fish + Blue Damselfish combo?

Three is a crowd. It is likely just a matter of time before the competitive aggression for space and food will break out in a tank with three naturally aggressive fish as they grow and their need for food and lebensraum expand.

Yes, depends on which blue damsel. Blue and Fiji devil more aggressive; yellow tail and azure less so. I’m inclined to not anticipate problems, preferring to act when or if they occur.

no

Please get rid of the beautiful "blue devil" damsel fish before you have problems. They have that nickname for a reason. They mature quickly and they are genuinely evil.

15 gallons is a very small tank for marine fish.
It is barely adequate for 2 ocellaris clowns.

They are ocellaris, right?
Not lightning maroons or something else that gets 4" to 6" each?

You could maybe add like a blood red fire shrimp or a banded serpent starfish without messing up your bioload.
But you are maxed out on fish for that size tank.

You could add some pretty soft corals to increase the movement in the tank.

If you decide to keep the fish then have a back up plan. Even if the damsel fish is docile I'd be more worried about the clowns becoming aggressive. Like I said, 15 gallons is pushing it.

Ok thank you, in case if I decided to rehome him, how can i capture him easily? I have quite a few hiding places and he is very fast. so it's quite difficult to catch him. i don't wish to move my aquascape because it will mess up my setup. I also have glued corals thats why
