Blue Dot Jawfish in his Goni Palace

I just wanted to share a couple snaps of my Blue Dot Jawfish because this guy is super cute. He’s got a little stress related ich (my tangs carry it - bleh) but he’s eating great and adjusting to his new home well. I love Jawfish and their big personalities. Besides my large Tomini tang, he’s getting along with everyone else really well, if they even notice him. He had picked a much bigger cave but the Tomini evicted him so I made him this little cave with some 3” tiles and put my gonis that were in the sand on top of them. He seems much more secure here!

I think those fish are so cool. Do you keep your tank cooler temp for him?

I love them so much! I finally got this guy but I also have a Black Cap or Moustache Jawfish in my other 120. He’s a character!

I keep the tank at 74-75 and he seems to be okay with it, although he’s still fairly new. I know they definitely like it a lot more when it’s cooler than that but I don’t know if I can lower the temp much more than that without adding a chiller.

I think he will be ok there. Seems like 72 is their ideal temp.
