Was just wondering what to use to clean the oil out of the drum? I can't remember the name of the oil but the drum was used at a food flavoring plant. Thanks.

I would use a touch of mild soap, hot water.

A little bleach and hot water.

Some vinegar and water .

Rinse.....rinse.....rinse.

Let barrel sit with water and prime.

Do the finger squeak test..there can not be any kind of oil residue , which I'm sure you know that anyway.

Others may chime in on it, with their ideas.......

vinegar and water. Repeatedly with multiple soaks. Rinsing is key. A lot of it. Worse case, if you don't get all of the vinegar out, it will be diluted by your ro/di and act like vodka dosing. Not ideal, but you reduce the potential harm from not getting it all out. Bleach is another monster I would stay away from IMO. Maybe use a mild soap the first couple of rinses too. After good rinsing and good vinegar water rinses, the soap would be completely gone. Good luck!

I think dish soap would be fine to use but definitely thorough rinsing. I like vingegar in a spray bottle too to get good coverage.

If its a food grade barrel, vinegar and water should be used.

dish or hand soap. It's soft and will be easily removed with hot water from the barrel. Finish the rinsing cycle with vinegar though.

I have one of these drums. It's been cleaned every which way over and over, sitting and getting washed out with rain water for a year and still leaches. It's become a permanent rain barrel now. It was from a juice plant.
