Blue fan worm?

Any clue what this little guy is? Anything to worry about? It’s mobile. Series of pics show it inching out and extending white fan part. In a friend’s tank...he’s very knowledgeable and he’s stumped. R2R to the rescue !!!

according to my research, they’re a harmless scavenger
