I got sent this, apparently it’s from instagram. Looks like a gigas but I’ve never seen one that color. Thoughts? I don’t think the color has been too overly saturated because the damsels look normal.

blue gigas clams are not uncommon in the wild, but the pattern of this clam does not look like T. gigas, this one also seems to have scutes on the shell which gigas does not have, if i had to guess i'd say it's a squamosa, i am not 100% sure though.
Wait a minute. The only clam with a smooth inhale siphon is Gigas.
I can not tell for 100% sure but the inhaler siphon is smooth on this clam. Unless I am wrong, I think it is a Gigas.

You beat me to it, that’s what I was looking at and I don’t see any tentacles at all on the inhalant siphon.

look closer...there are some fringe on the inhalent siphon. Not alot, but they are threre. There is nothing about this clam to suggest it is a gigas, except for the fact that it is a clam. It is 100% a squamosa.

and you can see some scutes/ridges on the shell itself...like a squamosa...unlike gigas
The color and the shell look more like a Derasa to me.

Gigas can get scutes. They don’t often have them as they’re delicate and easily broken from what I’ve read. It’s definitely possible for this to be a Gigas, I also cannot see any fringe on the Inhalent siphon.
