I woke up this morning to find one of my blue green chromis with either an injury or some type of mouth disease... He is still eating and very active. I'm hoping it's just a minor injury because I've tried to get him out with a net with no luck.

Water parameters are all fine... All other fish, inverts, including snails, hermits, and starfish are all fine.

I've tried to take some pics, not sure if they are much help. Thanks

This happens with chromis a lot.

Distended Mouth -Locked open

This is a condition that can be caused by a physical trauma or if the fish bites (or comes into contact with) a stinging coral. Unfortunately, there is no treatment for this. It will either self-correct or it won’t.

Thanks. Hope he gets better but I'm happy it's not a bacterial of viral.

Did you Chromis mouth ever heal? I️ have one that has this.

I also have had chromis with this, 2 separate instances. Both resolved on their own in a few days, and they continued to eat while it was stuck.
