Please help me identify the spots on the scales and thank you in advance!

Stress or injury possibly. New tank so no coral sting likely? Just keep an eye on him and the others over the next few days.

@RobZilla04 Thank you!

Stress or injury makes sense right now. No coral stings (yet). I feed slowly and intently and all five (5) of them are eating like champs!

Thanks for the advice, I'll come back in a few days to report if his condition seems to change, good or bad.

@Cment Thank you!

That is really great information, thank you for finding it!

The link references "red sores," it makes me want to try and take a closer look to see if any 'red' starts coming through.

Also, the chromis pictured in the link seem to have sores that "cross scale boundaries" (incredibly technical description), whereas, the video seems to show the spots are isolated to the individual scales.

I'll keep an eye on the size and color of the spots to see if they change to more shade of red, and then if the sores start to cross scale boundaries.

UPDATE:

No change in color, size, or amount of spots and still isolated to individual scales.

Eating and swimming normally as far as I can tell.
