Do these fish hide alot. because the only time i see this guy is when i feed the tank and he pokes his head out for acouple of seconds. I have a 1.5+ sandbed.
Funny you ask I just got 3 of them and they will come out for a second or two then dart back Into the rocks. Had them since Saturday hoping they will get settled and come out.
Dartfish are like that. If they feel comfortable (safe) in your tank, they will swim right out in the open. But sometimes they stake out a hidey hole in a rock and rarely leave it.
ya i my breeder tank there are alot of holes and caves to hide in. I made sure of that. I'm looking for a fish that creats movement or action in my tank. I have 2 clowns, 2 chromie, 2 goby,
If you're looking for active fish that are also reef safe, there are many smaller fairy/flasher wrasses that I think would be fine in a 40 breeder. Just make sure you have a secure top to prevent jumping. There are also many blennies & gobies that are surprisingly active.
A great addition to your tank (but not completely reef safe) would be a Pygmy Cherub Angelfish (Centropyge argi). I've never had one that nipped, and those are small enough to be comfortably housed in a 40 breeder IMHO.
