Blue hippo tang - anyone looking for one?

Got a small Blue Hippo tang from JerSaint on here that was a rescue in a BioCube 29. Being he's fairly small and I have a lightly stocked 90, Jeremy asked me if I would take him and then as he grew look at selling him down the road. Well he went through QT and is doing fine, moved to DT tonight and my yellow tang just isn't having it! The poor guy can't get into any rock work (and there is a fair share) without the yellow coming right in after him. I'm not sure how much time is a safe amount to try to let them acclimate but I'm not optimistic and well if anyone is looking and especially if anyone wanted to come tonight you can have him as long as he is going to a proper sized and established home. I'm in Mystic area, hit me up if interested, don't want this guy to endure anymore stress and don't want to bring him back down to QT and just sit. Hit me up if your interested. Thanks!

If he's relatively small I'll give him a try I've got a 65 with plenty of rock work and no large fish in it I hope to go larger in the future but if I don't I can just pass it on the same way I'm in Griswold and can grab him tomorrow

I'm me your details, things have gotten much more civil between them so I'll watch them tonight and tomorrow. If the blue tang still can't find a place in the rocks without being bothered I'll have you come get him. If he appears to settle in and the yellow tang settles down I'll leave him be so not to cause anymore stress by netting him again. Pm me your cell I'll touch base with you tomorrow, thanks

And assuming your 65 is a 4' tank I would think you would get a year out of him in that. He's only about 2.5"

It's actually 36 wire 18 deep and I think about 26 or so tall. I think it should work out OK until I decide what size I'm going into

Yeah I mean not ideal but as long as your realistic about finding him a home down the road then he should be fine for a while

I've got a 6' 125g if none of the above work out. I do have a good-sized purple tang and a large marroon clown also in the tank, but they don't really bother the other more peaceful fish

Ok so things have been going well since last night and I will continue to monitor, they are both eating, swimming and allowing each other into the rock work. Don't want to cause any additional undue stress and the blue tang for now appears to have its "space" to do its own thing (although it really wants to hang out with the yellow despite it being nasty to it). If I think it's in its best interest to move him out I'll put a plan in motion. Thanks all for the responses!

put your yellow tang in your sump for a couple days. That will calm him down and let the hippo establish. Then when you put the yellow tang back in they will ignore each other.

Trust me i did this exact thing with the same fish
