Blue hippo tang questions

I picked up a 4” blue hippo about 3 days ago very nice looking fish they just got it in that day. The first day my tomini tang was a little aggressive but has calmed down. The first day the hippo was out swimming around and etc now she sets in the middle of the rocks in the swim through hole and comes out around same time every evening and swims sundown. Today I noticed a scrap spot on her black marking on her side looks like she scraped it on the rocks can’t get a picture right now but hoping it’s nothing serious and will heal quick should heal right?
Is it normal for hippo tangs to only swim in evenings or just needs time to adjust and Normal for them to scratch them selfs up playing in the rocks. She pushes herself in a tight spot

My blue hippo sleeps in hiding in the rocks as well, and goes to bed clockwork at 7 pm.
The scraping should heal within a couple days. Feed nori

They will lay on their sides for hours under the rocks. Prretty normal.

She's just new and uncomfortable. Once she settles in a few weeks, I think most of that "silly" behavior will go away.

They're quite resilient actually. Provided you feed them right and often. One time mine got a really bad cut after hitting a sharp edge of a rock. Her skin was dangling and I thought that was it. Actually... not even a full week later, not only did she heal completely, I couldn't even see the scar.

So yeah, make sure there aren't parasites lurking, observe as much as you can without stressing the fish, and FEED! As the time goes, she'll get comfortable.

Bashful fish that like to play dead. Can take weeks for them to be social

Agree with the others about behavior. They are eccentric fish that wedge themselves into the rocks when hiding and sleeping. Also, tangs in general are prone to scrapes. They will heal with the right environment and nutrition.

Nori is good food if the hippo will eat it. Keep in mind that this species is actually a planktivore, unlike most other tangs. Mysis is a great staple, and pellets if the tang will take them.

I had a large yellow tang that would fly from end to end of my tank in and out of rocks all day. Most active swimmer I ever had really cool, but also prone to getting scraped up.
