blue hippo tang smacking the glass!

the last couple of days, my 7" blue hippo has been moving up to the glass and smacking the glass with his head and side of his body. all tank parameters were in speck as of last night. he was just doing it on the side glass, but this morning my wife told me he was moving to other sides now. lights aren't even on yet this morning, just residual light from windows. all other fish seem OK, even though I did lose my cleaner shrimp yesterday, not sure if that would be related, I have had it for several years now and both my fire shrimp seem ok. I started a new batch of carbon about 10 days and cleaned the glass this weekend but haven't done much other than that. just looking for ideas. im gonna have my wife turn the carbon off and I will replace this evening. any help is appreciatted

Aggression at seeing his reflection? I had a kole tang that was terrible with his reflection!

lol i've had TONS of fish that do this and honestly the only thing to worry about is if he ignores food to chase his reflection instead...if dory is eating just fine then i would watch finding nemo again just to remember that fish do strange things sometimes and there is not a darn thing we can do about it

I have the same thing happen, but it's more about the fact that I am about to feed them...he gets impatient!
