Putting out the feelers to see if anyone here is interested in a 4-5" Hippo Tang that I will be trying to catch soon. I'll be honest that it's not the most docile fish in my tank and that is the reason I am going to attempt to catch and sell it. I've had it for 1.5 years and I think the reason it's not so docile is because it was one of the first fish I put in the tank. Rookie mistake, I know... :frusty:

I'm thinking the $50 range....

Lol, thanks. By the looks of it, it will be getting returned to The AC.... That's if I can catch it!

Is it wise to keep 2 tangs in the same tank? I've got a 75 that I just added a Kole tang to this past weekend.

Eh you may be fine depending on what kind you get. But I would def not put more than two.

Well I guess I was wondering if I put the Hippo in with my Kole, if I would end up in the same boat and have to get rid of one. I just added the Kole last weekend.

The hippo probably needs a bit larger tank than 75 or I would get it. Lol

This one didn't play nice with the Kole that I put in my tank about six months ago. Let's just say the Kole didn't make it... I think when adding Tangs they need to be added at the same time. I added my Kole after the Hippo and they were about the same size and they battled constantly for who was boss. Well, I think the Hippo harassed the Kole but the Kole got stressed and never made it. I think the other key is that if one is added later that they are completely different sizes.
But for a 75, your Kole is probably the only Tang you would want to put in there.

My plan is to add a blue eye Kole and potentially a Tomini at the same time. I need to do some more research though.

Mike, I'll be calling you for advice but I'll be getting the trap from Jay. Thanks!

Wrong fish....

I have not even attempted to close the trap door as I want them to get as comfortable as possible around it. I'll start doing feedings in it, in the next few days. I need to have a free evening so once I catch it I can turn around and bring it to the Critter.
