I have had a blue Hippo Tang that in QT for 2 weeks and today he was hanging out at the bottom of the tank and breathing heavy. He is looking pale no spots or anything noticeable. There is a Fox Face and Goby in there both are acting normal.

Tested Nitrates 0.00 ppm Phosphates 0.00 ppm Salinity 1.025.

I don't have anything in the water as of right now. What should I do to help this fish?

Looking up it could be Velvet might be tiny spots making the fish look pale, I have Seachem Cupramine on hand considering starting treat the tank but waiting to hear from you guys :(

Did a freshwater dip following these directions

How To TreatFill a bucket with RODI water, and use a heater to match the temperature to the water the fish is coming from. Aerate the water heavily for at least 30 minutes prior to doing the dip, then discontinue aeration while performing the dip. Fish aren’t overly pH sensitive for short durations like this, but you can squirt a little saltwater into the dip just before the fish goes in to help bring it up.

Place the fish in the freshwater (FW) dip and observe closely. It is not unusual for them to freak out a little at first. Also, tangs are notorious for “playing dead” during a FW dip. The important thing is to watch their gills; they should be breathing heavily at all times. If breathing slows, it’s time to exit the dip! (You can chase the fish a little with your hand to be sure he’s alright.) Dip the fish for no longer than 5 minutes. Multiple dips may be done, but it’s important to give your fish 24-48 hours to recuperate in-between dips

He is back in the QT now did a 10% water change on the system before putting him back into it.

It was to late for this little guy feel horrible for making it go through this thanks for the people who got a hold of me.

Sorry you lost the tang. Be sure to keep a very close eye on the fox face and goby. Chances are high that they are now infected. If you have not already added cupramine to the QT tank I'd do it now. If you have a second QT tank to perform the tank transfer QT method then now is the time to move them to it and sterilize the first QT tank.

I add the Cupramine yesterday, I don't have a 2nd tank for QT. Should I preform a water change, the tanks is a 40B with a canister filter I am running filter floss in and then 2 bags of bio media

While a water change is never a bad thing to do, in this case it is not really all that necessary unless you're due for one on the tank. Just keep close tabs on your ammonia and nitrite levels and be ready to do up to a 50% water change if needed.

Also you can dose the with Seachem Stability for up to a week and after water changes to help bolster the beneficial bacteria. This will also help keep the ammonia and nitrites in check.
