I have a question about blue hornet growth? I got a frag of 4 polyps about 7 months ago, which quickly turned in to 9 polyps ( about a 6 wks later). After that not 1 new polyp, but the nine polyps look really healthy. Any ideas why there is no new growth? I just fragged the blue hornets to see if that would initiate some growth.

Any thoughts would be helpful..

Thanks

My blue hornets grow slow while my purple hornets grow super quick, its all in your water parameters, lighting, flow and placement.

+1

My Purple Hornets and Red Hornets grow faster than the Blue Hornets too for some reason.

Every tank is different. I knoe people that blue hornets grow like weeds. In my tank they grow 1 or 2 a month. Fragging them might make the grow quicker as anything fragged has space to grow.

My reds grow super fast. While I have not seen growth in my blues have not grown in over 6 months.

My thinking for the people that have high growth blue hornets is they are actually purple hornets Lol, I've seen multiple occasions where people buy blue hornets that morph to purple hornets in there tank so if its a slow grower then its probably the real blue hornet.

I appreciate all the responses thanks...I guess we will see what happens after fragging in the next couple weeks.

Might be on to something

Mine do just fine and they are true blue hornets. My main key to keeping them growing well is high light. They sit 12" under my LEDs at the moment. When I did have them under low light they just melted away.
