Blue leg hermit and Duncan coral

Hey guys:

I have one specific Duncan coral that seems to be attracting one of my hermit crabs. He hangs out by it constantly and picks at the base (not the coral itself). I move him away and he goes back. I've changed out the frag plug in case it was something with that, but it didn't help.

Any ideas as to what could be going on? I haven't seen anything like this before.

That is very strange. Was the coral dipped to rule out tasty pests?

Yes I always dip in coralrx. Yes I’m absolutely stumped. I have a similar Duncan right next to this one that never gets touched.

I would dip again in case eggs of some pest hatched and if that doesn’t work and I were you that hermit goes to the sump lol

Switch them and see if the crab goes for the first one or not. Sounds pretty kewl to me. A plug cleaning crab. Now if you could just breed it...........
