Ok so yesterday I noticed that I forgot to plug in my auto top off after a water change 2 days before I plugged it back in because I could hear the water in the return chamber after I plugged it in and watched it run over a gallon I thought to myself I should have done that slower....I have a20 cube..... The next morninI find my hermit upside down in his shell he is in there but not doing allot still alive but not active.... I'm hoping he molted he was trying to get in his normal Molt cave but it's been occupied by a ywg...I have a tiny tiny hermit and an astrea snail that seem to unaffected by the salinity swing but my Elegance is a little ticked I'm hoping I didn't mess up

You should be okay. Flip the hermit over and monitor. Maybe give him a very small bit of food to make sure he’s got something to eat while he recovers :)

Thanks for the info lol first hiccup on my first tank
It’s okay!! We’re all learning :) The good thing is that now you know and you won’t make the mistake of trying to fix stuff too fast again. When I forget to plug the ATO back in I just pour the FW in myself over a few hours then plug the ATO back in so it only dumps a little water :)
