so my led light have an option to turn the light dark blue and also have an option to brightness but doesnt have and option for moon light. Question, is blue light similar as moon light..? can the fish sleep at blue light..? can corals photosynthesis at blue light..? also can sea urchin see blue light..?

Depends. Moon lighting is just for aesthetic appeal. Doesn't really serve a true purpose.

Corals will need a complete spectrum mix of blue and white light. Within these spectrums also include some red, green and violet. Without getting overly technical.

Fish and coral do need a period of darkness for different reasons. Mainly to rest. Fish do sleep and corals need time to recover from light. A period of 10 -12 hrs of darkness is a starting point.

Hope this kinda answers your question.

oh gee thanks... so in other words they need complete darkness...

oh my god does it mean my fish havent been sleeping for 6 weeks... what the heck i feel bad what do i do...

It's okay, just get your lights on a "on and off" schedule and they'll do better. Alot of reefers do around 10hrs of light. A hour of blue before whites come on and a hour after whites go off. 10 hours blue, 8 hours white. Then darkness. All of this can be adjusted to your schedule so you can see them. They will adjust.

Incorporate a timer if you do not use a controller unit and set as Flippers stated via timer. They will have a steady schedule and if on a weekend getaway or vacation, those lights will stick to schedule
