blue or purple hornets?

Can't tell just got these. We're told they were purple when I bought them

There is actually no such thing as a blue vs purple hornet, apparently. They are one in the same. Now there is a coral called an african macaw (or something like that) that also goes by blue hornet.

what you have are blue hornets and yes there is a difference between blue and purple hornets . True blue hornets have alternating colored lashes and inside the halo is filled with color where as a true purple hornet also has alternating lashes but lacks color inside the halo . The only True hornets are purple , blue , black , and red . Others such as rainbow hornets , g2 hornets , lighting hornets etc are all considered hornet morphs
