Blue or white lights on fluval evo 13.5?

hey everyone I have a fluval evo 13.5 with two clowns, 1 damsel, and one shrimp. I was wondering if the lights affected much and which is better, the blue or the white lights? I am also fairly new to the hobby and would appreciate advice thks

Trick question really.
The day is 6500kelvin It is considered blue.
10,000 kelvin is quite blue.
20,000 is very blue and almost the light you get from the sky without sun.
All of those under 14k by today’s led standard are considered white.
Above 20k it’s pretty much not a temprature , it’s a color.

Most blue white led have a mix of blue color , and a “white”. 5k-10k
So , adjust the color to your preferred viewing look.

Are you referring to the light that came with the tank in the hood? Those can't be adjusted and I believe if the whites are on then the blues are on if IIRC.

Yes the lights with the tank. There is a switch for blue/blue and white/off. Howerver, the blue/white is ,outlying white and you can’t even see the blue

Yeah it's not meant for much. We upgraded the lights on my wife's 13.5 to current marine orbit. The orbit light isn't great but for a small tank it grew some LPS and softies just fine with 2 rainbow bubble tips

before you upgraded,did you keep the blue lights on or the white lights on? I have my light o a timer and during the day it is on the white light, and at night it turns off. You have two anemones? I thought they would grow too big for my tank. When did you get them?

Upgraded the lights before putting any coral in the tank. Mostly used the whites for viewing the fish. Had those anemones almost 2 years.

oh. I also use the white lights for viewing the fish. I think the blue lights are too blue. Are you worried about the anemones getting big?

Not at all. If they did we would just trade them for another

So are blue lights on all day instead of white enough for corals?

Fish don’t care.
Corals love blue, but still need a small amount of the red/green which is found in the white, so for corals, both would need to be on during the 8-12 hour photoperiod.
In addition, a blackout, during the night is also required when corals rest from their photosynthetic processes.
