A big fan of both since I acquired an ORA blue Oregon tort in 2010 and flew accrosd the globe with it. It is my favorite blue coral although it barely grew an I ch in the 2 years I had it before loosing it. Acquired another drag in a trip to US last year and lost most of it except for a nub that's making a nice comeback.
Got a Tyree blue matrix that was shipped from US to Saudi and then to Lebanon and it dried up for weeks till I reached to take it out and knew from the slime that it's still alive. It made a nice recovery and is growing rather fast.
Blue Oregon is still my favorite from a texture and darker blue color but blue matrix is gaining ground. How contoured compare both ? Any specific preference for one over the other? Anyone has both in same setup? And please share your experience, comments and most important pics.

I have both, right now just large frag size. They are totally different. The blue is nicer on the OT, but I love the PE and corslite structure on the matrix. Both have been slow growers for me.

Here is my Matrix and Oregon. In my tank, Matrix is a fast grower and the Oregon is moderate. Matrix polyps extension is a lot more, fuzzier. I agree with rovster, the Oregon has a nicer blue.

Very nice pieces, thanks both for posting. Mines are recovering nicely butchered still far from this nice blue.
Hope to see some large sized colonies.

@maroun.c I am not sure if I understand you right, what do you mean by "flew across the glove with it" can you do that, place the bag inside your suit case and check it in at the airport I assumed. Is that legal, I have always wanted to do that each time on vacation, I'm hoping there's no legality involved so I can bring a little piece of memory back home.

You always have to check the regulations in any country you're flying out of and also countries you're flying in.

Thanks for the info, I sure will.
