I have always heard damsels are jerks but let my lfs talk me into getting a blue sapphire. Since adding him to my tank the clownfish that attacks anything I put into my tank including my hands has chilled out and isn't aggressive. Neither one bothers the other. In fact I find it super peaceful with a cool personality. Is it just this fish or do they get a bad name?

Some damsels are incredibly good community fish. Azure damsels for example. I have also found cocoa damsels to be good tank mates albeit difficult to obtain. Here’s my pic of some cocoas! Some very nice electric blue on the face as well, though hard to capture on camera

Those are pretty. Thanks for the input. I am glad they can behave. I will shortly be upgrading and I'll look into Chrysiptera when I go to stock. :D

I had to look it up by its scientific name. That is the one. So pretty and just a cool little fish.

You may have C. cf springeri, i saw someone dub it the black sapphire damsel to avoid confusion with the true springers one. Unless your one looks like the all blue one, then its the true springers.

I couldnt get the article to load pictures but from the thumb nail and reading it I would say it is the true version. I am at work now so I snapped a picture of it. Don't mind the algae. With covid the tank has been a little neglected on weekend maintenance.
