Blue Spot Jawfish

Hello guys i just received my first blue spot jawfish. It is the second day and he has not accepted mysis and brine shrimp either but few minutes ago he accepted flakes , wow i never thought it will accept flake food. Any advice you can share for the success of my BSJ . It will be greatly appreciated

Yes a very cool fish. The wife wouldn't let me get one because of price. So I had to go with a pearly jawfish.

Thanks Denver , yes i have tried with pellets with no success. But i am happy because he jus eat some flakes he only eats the big ones

Hi Navy, it is a beautiful fish, video doesn't make justice . Well i am in Mexico and i had to save money for 2 months to get it. I hope he can finish the QT without issues

Mine jumped through a hole in an egg crate cover into the overflow once. Had to cover it with 1/4 inch mesh.

sorry to hear that. What was he eating? Btw this the lid i have in the Qt so i am thinking to do something similar

I tried one, our lid was almost exactly like this and worked well to prevent jumping. Just make sure it's a tight fit!

Like others said a tight fitting lid is a must and lower temps. They stress easy so very peaceful tank mates are needed and hopefully your tank isn't in a high traffic area. I've tried 2 on separate occasions years ago. Multiple feedings a day are required. One jumped and one had a crazy spasm/stroke right in front of me and died immediately it was crazy.
