Hi,
i purchased a blue spot puffer about two months ago from my lfs. While he was at the store i watched him chow down on some brine shrimp so i know he was eating. He wasnt nice and fat, but wasnt noticably skinny either. I had him in QT for about 2 or 3 weeks and he seemed ok. he was a picky eater in QT and would only eat brine shrimp and diced up raw shrimp. he has been in my main display for about 3 or 4 weeks now and has only gotten worse. he appears to have quit eating all togther. i have tried feeding black worms, clams on the half shell, fresh seafood (shrimp and clams), about 4 or 5 diff varities of frozen foods, etc. . He is wasting away. i was thinking about placing him in my refugium and seeing if that helps. The other fish leave him alone so i know he is not being picked on.
I have a 120 gal
its been running for 3 years now
i have one yellow tang, one blue tang (small), two small clowns and a mandarin.
salinity is 1.026/1.027
according to my test kits, i have 0's for ammonia, nitrate/ite.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to encurrage him to eat? oh i also have tried dosing garlic.
i was thinking he may be fearful or scared of the other fish which is why i was thinking of relocating him to the refugium (isolation and i can monitor his eating better).
