So I finally took the plunge and added a Blue Spotted Jawfish to the tank at a fair expense. I created him a little home and added some coral rock too. I guided him in as best I could but he left the net a little earlier than planned and didn’t find the home I built him. He’s been in 24 hours now and has settled in probably the worst possible position from a viewing point of view.

how can I encourage him to move? I can’t move the scape, it’s all joined together.

he has come out for food. So I’ve seen him once or twice, fleetingly….

It will pick a spot that is suitable for him, not for you lol.
Don't worry, they are curious and sociable fish, he will soon relocate to a spot that he can see everything happening around him, just give him time

Ahhhh. Hope he comes out soon then. He’s to expensive to just sit and never seen. Hopefully he’ll move to where he should be soon.

Don’t worry, we all have that one expensive fish that nobody sees and so no one believes it’s in there. Mines a Yasha Goby.

But seriously, you’ll probably find that people won’t even look at him and instead they’ll look at your cheapest fish (I.E. Clownfish).

U don’t. Lol. They go where they feel comfortable. In time he may find a spot that agrees w u. My old one hung out in my colt coral

They are awesome fish. Unfortunately mine decided to do some carpet surfing Monday. IMO make sure to have a lid of some sort to prevent that from happening.

Do you think the lid on a Biocube will be enough
