Hey guys,

Looking for a new fish. I have a Reef tank with sps and lps. I was looking at the blue spotted puffer on live aquaria. Will I be ok with this fish or will it definitely eat my Coral? I also was looking at the Central American sharp nose puffer? Any other puffers you recommend for a Reef tank?

Thanks ! [emoji225][emoji226]

Puffers have a normal diet of inverts. They can also tend to sample things if they decide it might be food. Shrimp, snails, and crabs will be on the menu. As for corals I would not put it past them to take some samples or damage them when trying to get at another meal. I have never tried housing one with corals yet but if I did I would expect that they would potentially damage corals and I would only try it if you are willing to accept that as a risk.

Had one, it nipped at LPS and SPS polyps, nipped at coco worms, got rid of it.
