Hi Everyone.
Let me start by saying since day one my puffer has been an extremely hearty eater.
L.R.S - Mysis - Brine - Clam on Half Shell
But will not eat shrimp with shell on it or anything really with shell.
My puffer has never missed a meal until yesterday when he chased the food around as he usually does but when he caught it he spit it back out and didn’t touch anything else. When I fed the tank this morning and evening he still hasn’t eaten and he’s staying in the back corner of tank when normally he’s all over the tank.
Not a single sign of disease on him nor any of the other tank mates. Perimeters are good, Nothing has changed.
I have read about puffers teeth and them needing a way to file them down otherwise resulting in long teeth, sore mouth, unable to eat but the only thing he has ever touched with a shell was clam. The only thing I can really think of with a semi soft edible shell is raw shrimp but I have tried that multiple times in past.
Any suggestions on other foods?
Any suggestions on what could be wrong if not the teeth?
All appreciated!
Thank you.
